Showcase

Box scan and product catalogue

With the box scan you add a whole box to the showcase at once: you enter the barcode of the package, the application finds the product and suggests the models inside.

Loading the product catalogue

Which code belongs to which box is in the product catalogue. It comes from the public repository warhub-catalog on GitHub and then stays on your device. Without it the scan cannot find anything.

  1. Open the options and choose Data sources.
  2. Under Product catalogue, choose Load.
  3. The first time, the application asks whether it should load the product catalogue. Confirm the question.

The line then shows the version and the number of products. The button is now called Update and fetches a newer version. Remove deletes the product catalogue from the device; your showcase stays as it is.

Scanning a box

  1. In the showcase, choose Add unit. Check at the top that game system and edition fit the box.
  2. Choose Scan box at the bottom. The layer Scan box opens.
  3. Enter the box's code in the field, the EAN or UPC under the barcode, and press Enter or choose Look up.
  4. Check the models below and choose Add.

A hand scanner on the computer types the code like a keyboard and sends Enter after it; then the scan itself is enough. After adding, the layer stays open and the field empty: you can add the rest of the box or scan the next one.

The “Scan box” layer: at the top the field with the code of a Necron Warriors box, below it the product, then the box's contents with ten Necron Warriors to add and Scarab Swarms as not addable, at the bottom the “Add” button.
  1. The box's code; Enter looks it up.
  2. The product the product catalogue knows for the code.
  3. The box's contents, with a checkbox and a count per row.
  4. “Add” adds one entry per model.

Box contents and suggestions

  • Known box: if the application knows what the box contains, every unit in it stands as a row with a checkbox and a count. A row marked Not addable has no entry of its own in the catalogue of the chosen edition. One click on Add adds every checked row.
  • Unknown box: otherwise the suggestions come from the box's name, across every faction, and carry the badge Suggestion. Nothing is preselected. Check the unit, pick it and set the number of models at the bottom.
  • Search yourself: if no suggestion fits, choose the faction and search for the unit in the field Search the faction.
  • Combat Patrol: if the Combat Patrol catalogue is on the device, the scan suggests matching patrols as a whole; the number at the bottom then counts boxes instead of models.

The scan adds entries beyond the free edition's allowance too. What lies beyond it is locked, as with the transfer from an army list.

When the scan finds nothing

  • No product catalogue loaded: load it as described above.
  • Unknown code: the product catalogue does not know the code. Add the unit yourself under Add unit.
  • Check digit does not add up: the code was typed wrongly. Check the digits.
  • Another game system or edition: the box belongs to another game system or another edition. Switch both at the top of Add unit and scan again.
  • Foreign game system: if the product belongs to no game system the application knows, the scan adds nothing.
