Warhammer - Age of Sigmar

In Age of Sigmar you build a list out of regiments. Beside it stands Spearhead, the box mode with finished armies.

The editions

Age of Sigmar comes with these editions:

  • 4th Edition
  • Spearhead

Each has a catalogue of its own; you download it on the first start or later under Options › Data sources.

Regiments and auxiliaries

  • Regiment: a child force of the list. It has a regimental leader, a hero of the category Regimental Leader, and holds its units.
  • Auxiliaries: a force of its own for units that belong to no regiment.
  • Regiments of Renown: finished regiments with a price of their own, where the catalogue offers them.

You add regiments with Add force. How that works and where new units go is shown in the chapter Forces.

Game modes and validation

When you create a list you choose a game mode, such as a General's Handbook; it decides which forces the list can take. You can change it later in the list settings.

Age of Sigmar has no detachment, no enhancement and no Warlord. Among other things, the validation reports when the list holds too much Faction Terrain.

The main view with the open list “Blood Pilgrims” of the 4th Edition: above the list the game mode General's Handbook 2026-27, the points and the button “Add force”, below it the roster validation with its findings; in the catalogue “Adds to: Regiment 1”.

Spearhead

Spearhead is the box mode: you choose a box as a fixed list, without points. It has an allowance of its own in the free version. More in the chapter Spearhead.

Text styles

As text, a list comes in these styles; the first is the default:

  • Regiments
  • Detailed
  • Simple

Regiments writes the list ordered by regiment. What each style writes is in the chapter Text export.
