Building lists
Add and configure units
You fill a list from the catalogue of its faction. Each unit is then configured in the unit detail, as far as the catalogue allows.
The catalogue
The BSData catalogue beside the open list shows what the faction offers, grouped by category. Each group folds open and shut. Beside each entry stands its price, as the unit would come into this list in its default composition.
- Search unit filters by name, category and source. The top right says how many entries are left.
- Main faction only hides allied units of other factions, where the catalogue offers any.
- Hide Legends hides the entries the catalogue lists as Legends, where it knows such a switch.
- Reset filter appears as soon as a filter hides entries and lifts all filters.
- The search field filters the catalogue.
- The filtered catalogue with the marked unit and its price.
- “Add selected unit” takes it into the list.
The picture symbol beside the price searches the browser for pictures of the unit.
Add units
Mark an entry and choose Add selected unit, or double-click it. The unit comes into the list in its default composition and appears there under its category.
When you mark a row in the open list, it shows three buttons: the pencil for the unit detail, Duplicate for a second unit configured the same way, and the bin to remove it.
The unit detail
The pencil or a double-click on the row opens the unit detail. On the left is the Configuration, on the right the unit's datasheet, as you configure it right now. Its price stands at the bottom left. Save takes the configuration into the list, Cancel leaves it as it was.
- Models: the counter at the top sets how many models the unit has; below it stand the bounds.
- Wargear / options: the wargear tree as the catalogue has it. A group says on the right how much is chosen in it and how much it allows.
- Unselected Profiles below the datasheet shows the profiles of the options you did not choose.
- The model counter with its bounds.
- The configuration: groups and options as the catalogue sets them.
- The unit's datasheet, as you configure it.
Option groups and locked options
The catalogue decides what you may choose. Where two options exclude each other, the new choice replaces the old. An option that cannot be chosen right now is drawn grey. What the catalogue gives as fixed carries a tick without a box.
Some options depend on others: they appear only once you choose their condition, or vanish when the rest of the list no longer allows them. The application follows the catalogue's rules in this.
Rows of a model
Where a unit's models can carry different wargear, a model stands not as a single number but in rows: each with its own count and its own choice. The plus in the first row adds a new one. The Row menu behind the three dots offers Duplicate, Separate one, Combine and Delete. A row folds shut; its choice then stands in one line below it.
Notes on a name
Where the catalogue keeps a note on a name, the name has a dashed underline. A click on it opens the note below, a click beside it or Esc closes it again. This works in the catalogue, in the list and in the unit detail.
