Building lists
Forces
In some game systems an army is made of several bodies of troops: regiments, auxiliaries, allies or whole detachments. Armamentarium calls each of them a force.
Child forces
A child force stands under the force the list is built in and holds units of its own. Which ones exist is up to the catalogue, for example:
- in Age of Sigmar, regiments, auxiliaries and Regiments of Renown,
- in The Old World, the allies,
- in Horus Heresy, the detachments of the force chart.
Where the catalogue offers child forces, the open list carries the button Add force. It opens a layer with everything the list can take. Where a force has a price of its own, it stands in the row, as for a Regiment of Renown; in brackets stands how many of that kind the list already holds.
- The offer: each row adds a force of that kind to the list.
Where new units go
Where a list holds child forces, the open list groups its units by force, each under a head of its own. One force carries the mark Target: units you add from the catalogue go there. Above the search, the catalogue names the force that is the target right now. New units go here on the head of another force makes it the target.
Where a force has places for certain categories, each category says how many are taken and how many are allowed. An overflow is marked in colour, and the check reports it.
Remove a force
Remove force on the head of a child force takes it out of the list together with its units. The application asks first and names how many units go with it. The force the list is built in cannot be removed.
Side forces
A side force stands not under but beside the built force, with a faction and a game mode of its own. In Horus Heresy, the layer Add force carries the section Side force for it: choose the faction, its game modes stand below, and each row adds a side force in that game mode.
- The layer's offer, here the section “Side force” with the faction's game modes.
- The faction of the side force.
A side force appears in the list with a head like a child force; where it belongs to another faction, the faction stands before its name. It is removed the same way. The check measures every side force against the catalogue of its own faction.
