Combat Patrol

A Combat Patrol is a finished force: you pick it instead of building it unit by unit. The application makes a list of it that you can view, print as datasheets and take into your showcase.

What a Combat Patrol is

In the application, Combat Patrol is an edition of its own beside the editions of Warhammer 40,000. Each Combat Patrol names its units with their model counts and wargear; the first row, Patrol Rules, carries the rules of the patrol itself.

Downloading the catalogue

Combat Patrol has a catalogue of its own. You can tick it on the first start or download it later under Options › Data sources.

Combat Patrol is always offered in the edition picker of the army lists, even without its catalogue. Choose it before its catalogue is on the device, and the application asks whether to download it; cancel, and it downloads nothing.

Choosing a Combat Patrol

  1. Choose the edition Combat Patrol at the top of the army lists.
  2. Choose New list at the bottom. The layer Choose Combat Patrol opens.
  3. Choose the Group and, in it, the Faction. Below them its Combat Patrols stand as cards, each with its units.
  4. Click the card you want; the bottom line names the one chosen.
  5. Choose Apply. The application creates the list and opens it.
The layer “Choose Combat Patrol”: group Imperium, faction Adepta Sororitas, the tick box for legacy Combat Patrols, below it the card “Sanctuary Guardians” with its units and at the bottom the button “Apply”.
  1. The group, such as Imperium or Chaos.
  2. The faction within the group.
  3. Also shows Combat Patrols the application no longer carries.
  4. The faction's Combat Patrols, each with its units and model counts.
  5. “Apply” creates a list from the chosen one.

The fixed list

A Combat Patrol opens differently from a built list: its units stand in the middle, the datasheet of the marked unit on the right. There is no catalogue here and no button for editing.

The open Combat Patrol “Eye of Ultramar”: in the middle the units from Patrol Rules to Intercessor Squad, above them the buttons “Delete list”, “Datasheets” and “To showcase”, on the right the datasheet of the marked row.
  1. The units of the Combat Patrol; a click shows its datasheet on the right.
  2. “Delete list” removes the list.
  3. “Datasheets” prints the list as a PDF.
  4. “To showcase” takes the models into your showcase.

Why some lists are there to be viewed only is also explained under Read-only lists.
