Diagnostics

Under Options › Diagnostics the application gives you technical detail about the loaded catalogue. In everyday use you do not need it.

When you need it

The diagnostics help when a catalogue does not look as expected: a unit is missing, a choice is not on offer or a value is wrong. They show what happened while the catalogue was read in. You can paste the copied text into a message under Options › Contact, see Reporting a problem and contact.

Options, Diagnostics section: the sentence “Technical account of the last catalogue import.” and the buttons “Show import diagnostics” and “Show catalogue structure”.
  1. Opens the log of the last catalogue import.
  2. Inspects how the catalogues are built.

Import diagnostics

Show import diagnostics opens the log of the last catalogue import, starting with an overview.

  • Search: The search field filters the lines; the application shows how many of all remain.
  • Copy: The lines can be selected and copied, for a report for example.

Catalogue structure

Show catalogue structure goes through every catalogue of the loaded archive and then shows how they are built. This takes a while.

  • Progress: Below the buttons the application shows how many catalogues it has inspected.
  • Cancel: The Cancel button ends the inspection.
