Reporting problems

Reporting a problem and contact

Something does not work, or you miss something? Under Options › Contact you write to the developer straight from the application. If you would like an answer, use the website's contact form.

Reporting from the application

  1. Open Options at the top right and choose the Contact section.
  2. Under Subject, choose what it is about: Report a problem or Suggestions & other.
  3. Under Description, describe what happened or what you would like.
  4. For a problem you can tick Attach the current log.
  5. Click Send.

The application sends nothing on its own: the message leaves only once you click Send. While the field is empty, Send stays disabled. A counter below the field shows how many characters are used and how many are allowed; anything beyond that the application cuts off.

Options, Contact section: the “Subject” choice set to “Report a problem”, the empty “Description” field with the placeholder “What happened? Which list, which faction, which step?”, the “Attach the current log” tick box and the “Send” button.
  1. Chooses the subject: a problem, or suggestions and other.
  2. Here you describe what happened.
  3. Attaches the application log, for a problem only.
  4. Sends the message.

The log

The application log helps to reconstruct a problem. The Attach the current log tick box is only there for the subject Report a problem. With it, the end of the log goes along.

Before sending, the application cleans the log:

  • User name: In folder paths it replaces your user name with a placeholder.
  • List names: It replaces the names of your army lists as well.

Factions, units and catalogue names usually stay, because they describe the problem. Your own text goes out as you write it. Every message also carries the application's version, the operating system and the time.

When else the application goes online is under When the application goes online.

What a good report contains

The more exact the report, the faster the problem can be found. Name, where you can:

After sending

When the message arrives, the application says Report sent and empties the field. If sending fails, your text is kept and you can try again. The application does not retry on its own.

  • BUG-01 · No connection: Check your network connection and send again.
  • BUG-02 · Server refused: The endpoint did not accept the message. Try again later.

Through the website

The website's contact form has two fields: your email address and the message. An answer goes to that address. The form goes to the same place as support@armamentarium.app; the address is also in the legal notice.

Take this way if you would like an answer or the application does not start. The website attaches no log.
