Troubleshooting
Frequently asked questions
Answers to questions that come up often. Each answer is short and leads to the chapter with all the details.
Cost and account
What does the application cost?
The download is free of charge. The full unlock is a one-off in-app purchase — no subscription, no advertising, no further offers. The price and the contracting party are under Legal. What the free version covers is under The allowances.
Is an account required?
No. There is no sign-in and no profile on a server. Lists stay on the device, in the data folder. See Everything on the device.
Is the application official?
No. Armamentarium is an unofficial tool. It is not connected with the publishers of the supported games and is neither endorsed nor approved by them. See Attribution of third-party rights.
Data and network
Where does the catalogue data come from?
From BSData, a community project. The application reads those files; it ships no rules content of its own. See Where the data comes from.
Does it work without a network?
Yes. Once the catalogues are downloaded you work without a network: building lists, datasheets as a PDF, export and import, the showcase. You need a network to download catalogues and the product catalogue, to send a message, to send to YellowScribe and for purchase or restore. See Working without a network.
How do I back up my lists?
You export an army list as a file and import it again when you need it. The showcase cannot be exported, and there is no backup of all data at once. See Backing up.
Can lists be moved between devices?
Yes, through a file: export the list, transfer it, import it. There is no automatic synchronisation. See Between devices. A list can also be sent to YellowScribe with one click; that transmits the complete list off the device, see What leaves the device.
Devices, language, game systems
Which devices does the application run on?
On Windows and Android, from your device's store. The version for iPhone, iPad and Mac is in development. Which stores there are and how far Apple is stands on the front page. How the interface arranges itself on small screens is shown in On phone and tablet.
Is the interface available in English?
Yes, German and English. The game data itself is shown the way the catalogue carries it — in English. See Language.
Which game systems are there?
The application knows 5 game systems. Each has a page of its own in the manual:
Switching
Can I take my lists over from New Recruit?
Yes, as JSON: export as JSON there, import here. For lists from BattleScribe there is no direct way, because the application does not read a roster file. See Switching from New Recruit or BattleScribe.
Problems and wishes
How do I report a problem or wish for a feature?
In the application under Options › Contact: choose the concern, describe it, send it. With a problem you can attach the log. See Reporting from the application. If you want an answer, use the website's contact form, see Through the website.
