Building lists

Create and manage a list

An army list belongs to one edition and one faction. This chapter shows what you choose when you create a list, what you can still change in the list settings afterwards, and how a list goes away again.

Create a list

Choose New list at the bottom of the army lists. The layer Create a new army list asks for everything the list needs from the start. The short way, step by step, is the tutorial of your first list. How many lists the free version allows is under Free version and unlock.

  • Faction. It decides the catalogue the list is built from. In the 10th and 11th Edition you first choose the main faction and beside it the faction within.
  • Name. The application suggests one from faction and points limit until you type your own.
  • Detachment. Where the game system knows detachments, you choose one here, in the 11th Edition also several out of a budget. More in Detachments and enhancements.
  • Game mode. Where the catalogue has several game modes, you choose the one the list is built in when you create it. Nothing is chosen in advance.
The layer “Create a new army list”: main faction Xenos and beside it the faction Necrons, detachment Awakened Dynasty ticked, beside it the Force Disposition, the points limit from the presets, at the bottom the “Create” button.
  1. The name, suggested from faction and points limit.
  2. The faction decides the catalogue.
  3. The detachments with their cost out of the budget.
  4. The Force Disposition, where the catalogue asks for one.
  5. “Create” creates the list and opens it.

The points limit

The points limit is the bound the check measures the list against. You pick one of the game system's presets or type a value of your own.

  • Empty field: the list has no limit. The points then show the total alone.
  • Zero is a limit: every point in the list is above it.

You can change the limit at any time in the list settings.

The list settings

In the open list, the button List opens the layer List settings. There you change the list's name, points limit and accent colour. The faction is shown, not offered: it is chosen when the list is created and stays fixed. Save keeps the changes, Close drops them.

The layer “List settings” of the list “Greywood Herd”: name, faction for reading, game mode Combined Arms, the points limit with the presets below it, the accent colours, at the bottom “Delete list”, “Close” and “Save”.
  1. The game mode the list is built in.
  2. The points limit: a free value or one of the presets below.
  3. “Delete list” removes the list after asking.
  4. “Save” keeps the changes.

Change the game mode

Where the catalogue has several game modes, the list settings carry the field Game mode. If you choose another one and save, the application asks before it changes. The units stay in the list; what no longer fits in the new game mode is named afterwards by the list check.

The head of the open list names the game mode it is currently built in.

Delete a list

Delete list stands at the bottom left of the list settings, apart from the buttons that can be undone. The application asks first; after that the list is gone for good.
